COURSE BACKGROUND
Duration of the course
it is a two years course with 2 intakes per year that is January, June.
National Examination
Learners will have to complete internal assessments (FORMATIVE AND SUMMATIVE) assignments 01-16 those assignments are part of General Assessments towards the POE File. Learners will be doing the monthly internal assessments, mid-year exams and end of the year exams to assess the students if they are progress towards the EISA Exams. At the end of the course which is 12/18/24 months must be completed which gives a student a right to sit in for the EISA Examinations. These are exams from Seta.
This qualification is made up of the following compulsory Knowledge and Practical Skill Modules:
Knowledge Modules:
- Document management and record-keeping.
- Computerised Information Processing.
- Resource and procurement management.
- Social media and digital literacy.
- Office protocol, deportment and etiquette.
- Business communication and customer services.
- Ready for work standards.
- Basic business calculations.
- Apply End User Computing.
- Business documentation and design.
- Meeting administration.
- Introductory project management.
Total number of Credits for Knowledge Modules: 106.
Practical Skill Modules:
- Create a trip itinerary.
- Address protocol requirements.
- Determine, acquire and allocate resources for the secretarial unit.
- Design and develop complex text documents.
- Manage a small project.
- Support the recruitment, selection and induction of secretarial staff.
- Apply communication and effective customer relationships.
· Organise meetings.
Total number of Credits for Practical Skill Modules: 75.
Work Experience Modules:
- Perform administrative and meeting support functions to support management.
- Apply ready for work standards to everyday work activities,.
- Handle customer and client’s queries and liaison in an office.
- Assist in planning and coordinating at least two special events/conferences.
- Procure and allocate resources.
- Manage a paperless office.
- Apply supervisory skills to coordinate and direct clerical staff activities.
- Prepare a trip itinerary.
Total number of Credits for Work Experience Modules: 135.

Students need to have access to the Microsoft Office Suite (inclusive of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Certification
Learners who have passed National Examination will be awarded Occupational Certificate: MANAGEMENT ASSISTANCE by Quality Council. Certificates are only issued to students that pass the EISA (NATIONAL EXAMS) whereby this certificate is Nationally and Internationally recognized.
